What to expect and how to prepare for your first hand therapy appointment with Jaden at Rapha House

MAKING YOUR FIRST CLINIC APPOINTMENT

As a speciliased hand and upper limb rehabilitation clinic, to get an appointment, please fill in the consent form before your arrival for better service, this we can access to your medical supporting documents for your diagnosis and conditions.

Please call our office on (06) 241 8330, Monday to Friday between 8 am to 5pm for an appointment.

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR FIRST CLINIC VISIT

Please bring the following with you to your clinic appointment:-

  • Any letters or reports from your healthcare provider, including progress reports from your GP, specialist, DHB or physiotherapist.

  • Any X-rays/other imaging/investigations you have had (these are often available online if completed within Palmerston North) and reports if available

  • Your insurance details, Southern Cross membership number or ACC documentation if you have had an injury

  • You are also more than welcome to bring a friend, partner or family into your consultation with Jaden.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Jaden will begin by asking questions about your orthopaedic condition and examining the areas of injury or discomfort. As part of the assessment, he may ask you to move certain joints or areas that cause pain to better understand your condition. He will review any imaging or investigations you have already undergone and may request further tests, such as X-rays, ultrasound, or MRI scans if needed. Once all findings are reviewed, Jaden will provide you with a diagnosis and discuss appropriate treatment options tailored to your needs..

TREATMENT DISCUSSION

Jaden will discuss the most suitable treatment options for your injury or condition, which may include non-surgical management with him and/or referral to a specialist for surgical consideration. He will explain the potential benefits and risks of each option, and together, you will decide on the most appropriate course of treatment. You are encouraged to ask questions at any stage to ensure you fully understand your condition and the treatment plan supporting your recovery.

RESCHEDULING OR CANCELLING YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please contact our office at Rapha House Clinic at least 4 hours before your appointment by calling (06) 241 8330. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. If you are unable to reach us, please leave a message or email us to notify us of your cancellation. This helps us manage our schedule and ensures you won’t be charged the $45 late cancellation fee.
